DMW not to be confuse with the German BMW, but a British company. Dawson's Motors Wolverhampton is where the anagram emanates. They started life when the name appeared on some grass track machines back in 1938. The first production bikes appeared in 1947 with Villiers 125cc engines. Focus was always on handling and suspension giving these bikes a reputation which many would envy. 1962 saw Ambassador take over DMW and the end came in 1967.
