Vision
Our Belief
We believe that God wants his church to be a cathedral of living stones dominating the spiritual atmosphere of Belper just as any cathedral building can dominate the physical landscape of a city.
For a building to be strong its foundations must be strong, the foundations must be deep and the stakes knitted and bound together. For the church to be significant, influential and a real expression of God's love, its people need to be united in heart, mind and walk to see a common vision realised.
Our History
The church was formed in the early twentieth century by two brothers and the current building was established at it's present site. God enabled the extension of the building in the early 1990's when land was made available from the bungalow next to the church and a new entrance foyer was added, with kitchen, toilets and office.
We celebrate over many Years of Pentecostal / Charismatic witness. Once we stood alone as a peculiar people. Now we embrace and are embraced by churches all around the town and region, united in restored truth, Hallelujah!
Our Dream
Our purpose as the church of Jesus Christ is to take back the town of Belper that it might be returned to its rightful owner, Almighty God!
We are not merely looking for revival, that will come and go, but are seeking to claim our inheritance, our land. May we know a period of Jubilee at Belper Christian Centre, may we forcefully advance and see God's Kingdom established in this town, let us recognise as we go forward that we serve God who can make the impossible, possible. We are a church on a journey, we have taken some significant steps but we have a dream... We have a dream of a church where people don't just receive grace but practice it.
We have a dream of a church where those who come in feeling condemned get accepted, a church where the fallen are restored.
We have a dream of a church where the love of God in people's hearts is so strong that gossip and bad attitude is rejected and people are talked up and not talked down, where unity is more important than winning an argument.
We have a dream of a church where everyone counts, and is valued not because of who they are down here but because of who they are in heavenly places.
We have a dream of a church where people are welcomed regardless of what they have done, where prodigals are received with open arms, rather than religious judgement.
